Atomic Fusion

Group Exhibition of Iranian/European Artists

The exhibition Atomic fusion is supposed to initiate the deliberation with the view distributed by the western media of the Iran. With its title, which also refers to the current conflict in the region regarding the Iranian atomic program, the exhibition tries to act as a counter program of the overcoming of the mutual rejection between Iran and the Western World. In the case of the atomic fusion we would like to generate an approach between both overcoming this mutual rejection and reaching a fusion of both parts in their essential core, which also combines them.

The one sided view which we receive of Iran through the media is to be countered by the personal views of artists of Iranian origin living in the Western, which especially qualifies them for this type of discussion: the sensitivity for their home country resulting in an increased attention for the view transmitted to the Western of the Iran and eventually the possibility to compare this transmitted view with the reality in Iran, which these artists remember of younger years, travels and of tales told by their parents and relatives.

Azin Feizabadi, Bijan Anquetil and Sebastien Cabour, Shirin Homann-Saadat, Kaya Behkalam and Alireza Ghandchi use different approaches and all kinds of media to deal with this topic. In addition to that the Immigration Office of Transnational Republic is offering citizenships at the opening night of the exhibition.

Transnational Republic representatives:
